Early History

By the beginning of the 20th century, Pasadena was a thriving community and a major stop along several railroad lines. In fact, many Hollywood stars of the 1930s coming back from the East Coast would disembark at Pasadena to avoid the reporters and photographers who notoriously staked out Union Station in downtown Los Angeles.

The Old Town Pasadena shopping district, centered along the famed Colorado Boulevard, was for decades in a state of deep disrepair. But in the early 1990s the city mounted a massive revitalization effort that resulted in the bustling business, retail shopping and restaurant hub it is today. Conveniently, Ramada Pasadena is located less than three miles away.
