There are several important educational institutions in the Pasadena area. Famed California Institute of Technology and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory are training future world-class scientists, physicists and engineers, and home to 31 Nobel Prize laureates. The Fuller Theological Seminary is one of the largest multi-denominational seminaries in the world, and Pasadena City College is a very popular two-year school. The Pasadena Unified School District oversees five high schools, three middle schools and 24 elementary schools.

Pasadena City College is considered to be one of the best community college in the state, and is within walking distance of the hotel. Since it was founded in 1924, over one million people have taken class at the college. The average student enrollment to this two-year college is around 29,000. Among the famous alumni are Jackie Robinson, William Holden, Nick Nolte and David Lee Roth.

ART CENTER COLLEGE OF DESIGN
One of the premier art and design schools in the country is located right in the heart of Pasadena. The Art Center College of Design has been training artists, graphic designers, filmmakers and photographers for over 75 years. Founded in 1930 by Edward A. Adams, Art Center was the first school in the U.S. to offer extensive professional training to aspiring artists and designers, and give them the hands-on skills necessary to land jobs in advertising, publishing, industrial design and animation. The Walt Disney Studios heavily recruits from this world-renowned artistic institution.

CALIFORNIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
The California Institute of Technology (commonly referred to as Caltech) is a private university that maintains a strong emphasis on the natural sciences and engineering. Caltech also operates and manages the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). JPL builds and supervises unmanned spacecraft for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), such as the Mars Pathfinder, sent to the Red Planet in 1997. Although Caltech only has around 2,100 students, the institution is ranked among the top 10 universities in the world. Just a mile from the hotel, Caltech’s main campus is located on Holliston Avenue, just off Lake Avenue.

FULLER THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY
